If ever a six year period in history was destined to change the course of almost everyone's lives, then the years between 1939 and 1945 did just that.  For those who were there the music and the songs of the times captured perfectly the joys and sorrows, the happiness and heartache in their lives.

 

In Britain's darkest hours popular music and song offered great cheer, comfort and optimism that things would soon get better.  Sixty years have now passed since the war finally ended but the songs still live on in the memories of the men and women who lived through those times.

 

Jeff Jackson now brings to you his "Songs that won the War" show.  A unique vocal tribute to the  music, the songs and the singers of the War Years.
