Victorian Carol Singers by Same Difference Arts of South Yorkshire available for hire
Almost all of our dearest Christmas traditions in the UK were adopted during the Victorian era, with the Queen's adoring husband, Prince Albert, bringing the first Christmas tree to Windsor Castle in 1948, and Charles Dickens' classic tale, A Christmas Carol, paving the way for a holiday of sending cards, gifts under the tree, Figgy Pudding and peace and goodwill to all!
Celebrate Christmas with this performance inspired by traditional Christmas carol singers: featuring classic ditties from the period (such as 'O Christmas tree', 'God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen' and 'Hark the Herald;), certain to get everyone singing along!
The performance includes comic interludes between songs combining good singing with that street theatre that gets audiences engaged and interacting with traditional singers.
We are currently taking bookings for our Victorian Carol Singers. They have been touring for 4 years up and down the UK. They combine beautiful 3 part harmony and audience interaction to create a fun and inclusive show. Although it may be a bit early for carols, have a listen to their incredible singing as we sing 'In the Bleak Midwinter, Ilkley Moore Bar'tat - While shepherds, and Rejoice and be Merry.
Performing 3x45mins or 6x20mins performances per day
